Our loans

Home collected loans

Cash loans designed to cover short term needs, with the convenience of a home collected service from one of our friendly, trained collectors and affordable weekly repayments. Payments are usually collected in person by your agent, and you can also pay by debit card, Continuous Payment Authority or standing order. All lending is subject to affordability and credit checks.

The product

What a home collected loan is

A home collected loan — also known as a doorstep loan or home credit — is a small cash loan repaid in fixed instalments. Your loan is arranged face to face, your agent delivers the cash to your home, and for most customers the weekly payment is collected in person by that same agent. If you would rather not have a weekly caller, you can pay by debit card, Continuous Payment Authority or standing order instead.

Delivered to and collected from your home

Your agent brings your cash to you and usually calls each week to collect your repayment. Debit card, Continuous Payment Authority and standing order are also available.

Fixed repayments

One fixed amount, agreed before you borrow, so the cost is clear from day one and never changes.

No late payment fees

The total you agree at the start is the total you repay. No missed or late payment charges are added.

No set-up charges

There are no arrangement fees and you will never be asked for an upfront payment before a loan is arranged.

A local agent, not a call centre

The same collector who completes your application calls at a day and time convenient to you.

Family run since 1969

Home collected credit has been our business for three generations, and it is all we do.

Terms and cost

What you can borrow and what it costs

As a new customer, we would typically lend no more than £200. Existing customers who have kept up regular payments on a previous or current loan may be able to borrow more, subject to affordability.

New customer loansRepayment termsCharges
Typically up to £200 14 or 22 weeks No set-up or late payment fees

We aim to complete successful applications within two to three working days, and your first repayment is due seven days after you receive your loan. If you settle early there is no charge, and you may receive a rebate of some of the interest.

The amount we can offer depends on your affordability assessment. We only lend what we believe you can comfortably repay, and approval is never guaranteed.

Because this is a small loan repaid over a short period, the representative APR looks high compared with longer-term borrowing. That reflects the fixed cost of arranging and collecting a small loan rather than a hidden charge. For budgeting, the total amount repayable is the clearest figure to look at.

High street shopping vouchers

Alongside our loans, high street shopping vouchers are available on request. If you would like vouchers rather than cash, speak to your agent and they will arrange it for you.

Vouchers are provided as part of a home collected credit agreement on the same terms as a cash loan, with the same fixed repayments and the same total repayable agreed before you borrow. Availability is subject to status and affordability.

Areas we cover

Where we lend

Our agents provide home collected loans across South Wales, the Midlands, the North West and the South West of England. Coverage is set by postcode rather than by town, so the quickest way to find out is to check your postcode.

FAQs

Questions about our loans

What is a home collected loan?

A home collected loan is a small cash loan repaid in fixed instalments, arranged face to face. It is also called a doorstep loan or home credit. For most customers the payment is collected in person by a local agent, and debit card, Continuous Payment Authority and standing order are also available.

How much can I borrow as a new customer?

As a new customer, we would typically lend no more than £200. Existing customers who have kept up regular payments may be able to borrow more. The amount we can offer always depends on your affordability assessment.

How long are the repayment terms?

We offer terms of 14 and 22 weeks. Your repayment amount and total repayable are both fixed and agreed before you borrow.

Are there any fees or charges?

There are no set-up charges and no upfront payments. We do not charge missed or late payment fees. The only cost is the fixed interest charge, which is included in the total amount payable shown in your agreement. Missed payments may still affect your credit rating and your ability to borrow again.

How soon would I receive the money?

We aim to complete successful applications within two to three working days. Loans are usually paid in cash, or can be paid into your bank account, which takes up to 72 hours from the time the loan is granted.

What if I want to pay off my loan early?

Contact your collector or our office and we will give you a revised settlement figure, which may include an early settlement rebate of charges. There is no charge for settling early.

Do you offer shopping vouchers?

Yes. High street shopping vouchers are available on request as an alternative to cash, on the same terms as a home collected loan. Speak to your agent if you would like them.

How do I apply?

You can apply online in a few minutes or call us on 01495 722333. If your application is approved, your local agent arranges everything from there. All lending is subject to affordability and credit checks.
